Our Story

The Reynolds & Reynolds’ story is as much about its founders as it is about their mission and vision to revolutionize the financial services business.

After taking an extensive look at the industry in which they have now worked for over two decades, Devon & Shad Reynolds decided that the prevalent business models didn’t work. They felt the industry wasn’t investing enough into developing talent, nor were most firms truly focused on the wellbeing of their clients.

It was these feelings that led them to found Reynolds & Reynolds in 2011. The purpose behind its conception was to bring financial planning to “the people who made America work,” by actively choosing to help clients strive to create wealth, as opposed to chasing it.

What We Do

In our experience, many Americans – even those with decent-paying jobs – don’t have a plan for their financial future. The assumption is that if you work hard and put in your time, you will eventually be able to retire. We choose to debunk that notion. Retirement means nothing until, and unless, you choose to define it.

Our firm is not like some others, where the size of your assets determines whether you will be seen or not. If you’re serious about making smart decisions about your money, then we are serious about working with you. We pride ourselves on our desire to help clients regardless of how much they bring to the table.

Our approach is collaborative, team-based, and relies upon a deep knowledge of the market segments in which we’ve chosen to specialize. However, our ultimate goal is to help all families who aspire to improve their financial wellbeing for the long-term, regardless of if they fall into those specialized market segments or not.

Our Process

We choose not to work with people who are interested in chasing returns. Our work is serious; our relationships are designed for the long term.

How will we work together?

We will take you through a thorough and systematic process that allows for periodic review and adjustment of your finances. As your life changes, so will your needs. Our goal is to be proactive, rather than reactive.

When we meet for the first time, our objective is to get to know each other well. You will have the opportunity to ask many questions, and determine if you would like to embark on the planning process with us.

In this meeting, we will do some deeper discovery. Our goal is to gather symptoms, rather than make a diagnosis. Do you believe in having a financial plan and are you dedicated to your financial future?

We take the data you have gathered and do the number crunching and analysis to determine what you are doing well, where you can improve and specifically how to improve and present you with your options.

We document our recommendations in the form of a written plan. You can implement the plan with us or with a financial advisor of your choice.

Should you choose to implement your plan with us, we meet again to implement your plan. After that we meet every four months to make sure things are on track, and to stay in a proactive mindset.

Life is not a straight line…  Progress meetings allow us to keep a pulse on your financial plan and evaluate your steady progress. One meeting focuses on your cash flow and tax strategies, another on your risk profile, while another will help you plan for the year ahead.

Over the course of the year, our team will also stay in touch via regular email, phone, and in-person contact.

Financial plan recommendations can be implemented with the advisor of your choosing. Implementation of specific products or services may result in commissions or fees outside of the financial planning fee.
